A Women in Leadership Book Circle focuses on supporting women who want to take on more leadership roles within their organization, or want support to continue to grow in their current leadership roles.
Participating in a Women in Leadership Book Circles allows your female employees to engage in a peer network, where they can have honest conversations about the realities of being a female leader. Whether we want to admit it or not, the struggles and challenges that women face are not the same as men, nor are the strategies for overcoming those challenges.
During a Women in Leadership Book Circle, we focus mostly on the internal barriers to our success as female leaders, but also how to take steps to address the external barriers without creating more exhaustion for ourselves.
The book acts as the platform and the subject-matter expert, and the facilitator acts as the bridge between the ideas in the book, and where they are want to go next.
What it looks like:
Unlike a traditional book club, a peer book circle meets 6 or more times per book, with the aim of reading deeper and truly bring the learning to life.
“You don’t call a man bossy, right? But if you’re a woman, you’re being bossy. These are stereotypes that need to be broken. The first order of the day should always be competence and capability, whether you are male or female.”
