Speak Up When It Matters Most.

Picture
Most of us didn't get where we are by making waves. We learned early that being agreeable opens doors, that pushing back carries risk, and that keeping the peace is often the path of least resistance.

For a long time, that methodology may have served us well.
But at some point, many of us hit a moment — a compromise too far, a silence we regret, a "yes" that didn't reflect who we actually are — and we start to wonder if there's another way.

Defy by Dr. Sunita Sah, invites toward that other way.  Defy reframes defiance not as rebellion, but as alignment — between your values and your actions. It's about learning to say a real no so that your yes actually means something.

Our book circle brings together professionals ready to have honest conversations about compliance, courage, and what it looks like to lead — and live — with greater integrity. Come ready to reflect, engage, and leave with tools you can put to work right away.

What is a book circle?

An Emerge Book Circle is an intersection of learning and community building --where a small cohort explores a shared book together, with the support of an experienced facilitator.

Participating in a book circle allows the participants to engage in ongoing generative conversations, step back from the day to day to see the bigger picture, challenge their assumptions, re-envision how they live and work, learn with and from one another, create deeper human connections, and more.

The goal is to move beyond consuming great ideas, to connecting those ideas to yourself, your colleagues and your work. We don't need more shelf development.

Rather than a trainer delivering content, your facilitator will create space for you  to experience the ideas from the book in new ways, so you can better connect the head, heart and hands. The expertise lies with Dr. Sah and you, while the facilitator guides the process.

Each session is online, designed in an interactive workshop style. No reading required for the first session. Each session there after will focus on a few chapters, with a final session to tie everything together.  The scheduled will be shared during our first session together.

Includes reflection questions and chapter sketch summaries.

Hi, I'm Theresa Destrebecq!

I am a passionate learner and leader who loves books, so I started a company that creates engaging online spaces to better bring a professional
 book's ideas to life.

I primarily work directly with global organizations to compliment their more traditional learning and development initiatives. Most of my work is inspired by books, but I am also a student and facilitator of Lewis Deep Democracy as well.
