Have you ever felt unsafe at work? Disconnected? That you didn't belong?
I have. Walking on eggshells. Worried about retaliation. Anxious about public shaming.
There are many others with similar stories. Too many.
Our company cultures matter. Our sense of psychological safety matters. We can DO better. We can BE better.
We can create community and connection. We can ensure inclusion and belonging. Even at work. Especially at work.
Let me introduce you to the Culture and Connection Book Circle
The Culture and Connection Book Circle offers you the opportunity to raise awareness around your company culture, while transforming your inclusion and belonging practices within and across your teams, departments and organizations.
We use books as the launching point to create deeper connections and stronger learning opportunities. When we gather each session we are invited to envision, connect, disagree, dream, reflect, problem-solve, support, create, play, and so much more.
By joining our learning community you connect with other professionals who share a similar passion and desire to look more deeply at how we can reduce the power gradients within our organizations, improve everyone's sense of belonging and connection, and still ensure that we are strategic and productive in our work.
Through reading and connecting with others to share better belonging practices and gain perspective, you will feel accountable and inspired to integrate the ideas and truly transform your team, department, and organization.
Out area of focus will be on:
Flattening the power gradients between and among people (Power with and to, not power over.)
Uncovering our unconscious biases
Deepening our understanding of the intersectionally marginalized people
Practicing empathy and vulnerability, to improve connection

Questions and Answers:
When are the Integration Sessions and Speaker/Guest Events? We will meet on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month at 2:30pm Paris, 1:30pm UK, 8:30am Eastern, 7:30am Central. Speaker/Guest events will depend on their schedules more than ours, so stay tuned.
Are there recordings of the integration sessions? Unfortunately, no.
I do not record integration sessions for these reasons: 1) I value CONNECTION and we cannot connect with each other when you are watching a recording. 2) It's my way of encouraging you to SHOW UP for yourself and those you work with 3) People are more courageous in their sharing when they aren't being recorded -- it's about psychological safety. 4) We often utilized break-out rooms, which can't be recorded.
How are books selected? How long do we read each book? Books are nominated by, and voted on by the members in a democratic fashion. We read each book for 2 months, as the goal is to read deeper, not faster.
What types of books can we nominate? Books must focus on how we can improve our sense of community and belonging in a professional setting. Books in the areas of diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging, culture, communication , leadership, etc. Memoirs and biographies are also acceptable.
What if I don't like the book selection? If you are not inspired by the chosen book, then you have two options: 1) Opt out of that particular book cycle if you are on a month-to-month plan 2) Keep yourself open to possibility, and see where the book takes you. If you have other questions, please email me.
Coach and Facilitator Bio
By combining my first career in education and educational leadership, with my second career as a professional coach, I have a unique perspective when it comes to learning, development, and leadership.
I know first hand, and through the 9 years that I have been coaching and mentoring individuals around the globe, that reading alone won't change your life or your leadership. Yet, when you combine reading, with community, consistency, and coaching, you move from consuming new ideas, to making new connections, and creating new ways of living and leading.
