I have books all around my desk. On the shelves next to my desk. In two crates attached to the wall behind my desk. On the windowsill in front of my computer. And a getting-larger vertical stack on the right corner. Last night, I picked up Wanderful at the bottom of this last stack. And I couldn't put it down. It was already 10:15. By the time my husband came home at midnight, I was still awake. Several months ago, I was invited to go on a Serendipity walk with Lily Higgins, and although nothing earth-shattering happened, I loved the slow pace, the opportunity to see my neighborhood in a different way, and the prompts to explore our thoughts in connecting to our surroundings. Shortly afterwards, while reading/leading The Extended Mind with a team, I decided to host my own "walkshop" as David Pearl calls them. It was only about 30 minutes of our 90 minutes together, but all the participants got taste for what could happen when we slowed down, and used our surroundings for inspiration, rather than forcing it sitting behind our desks in our often sterile office spaces. When we finished the circle, this walk was what meant the most to them. I have no idea who recommended Wanderful in the first place, so thank you if you want to take credit. I am loving it, and hope you will too! Originally posted on LinkedIn with comments. Read Deeper Not Faster
