WHAT I'M READING WEDNESDAY : "Power: A Woman's Guide to Living and Leading Without Apology" by Kemi Nekvapil

9/19/2024

A few weeks ago, I wrote about my experience reading The Memo by Minda Harts, and made a request to you for other books that I must read that address women and leadership, without forgetting about the intersectionality that many women face.

Thank you, Bronwyn Djefel for recommending Power to me.

Interweaving personal stories, with client stories, and her coaching wisdom, Kemi Nekvapil shares with us her version of power -- a version that we can all step into because it's a power that comes from within.

Nothing that needs to be bestowed on us from the outside.
Something that needs to be cultivated from within.
  • P stands for PRESENCE.
  • O stands for OWNERSHIP.
  • W stands for WISDOM.
  • E stands for EQUITY.
  • R stands for RESPONSIBILITY.

I definitely recommend it, and hope to use it as part of book circles with my clients in 2025.

    Hi there!

    I am Theresa Destrebecq.

I am a passionate learner and leader who loves books, so I started a company that brings book-learning to companies to make it more social and transformational.

It's about moving beyond just consuming ideas in isolation, to connecting those ideas to yourself, your colleagues, and your work.
