There is no school on Wednesdays for elementary aged children here in France. Yet, my husband and I still work. We lovingly pawn off our children to friends for the morning, and they head to various sports in the afternoon. This Wednesday, my daughter had the joy of going shopping with her best friend and her mom in the morning. When she got home, though, she said she was too sick to go to horse-riding in the afternoon. If you know anything about horse-riding, it's not cheap. All I saw were blinking red lights saying, "Manipulation Alert. Manipulation Alert." I pointed out the contradiction. She dug in. I dug in. We were at a stand-still. My husband stepped in and let her skip horse-riding. Yesterday, I woke up and couldn't move my neck. According to the emotional-physical connection, that's a sign for "inflexibility and stubbornness." Today, she's home sick. Doctor confirmed. Kind of funny that today's #leaderlearnerpodcast is all about the practice of listening, where I admit, once again, that I am a terrible listener to my daughter. If you choose to give it a listen, I am sure that Vincent Musolino will be just as honored as I will be. Here's the link. Originally posted on LinkedIn with comments. Read Deeper Not Faster
