Every Wednesday my son has basketball practice, and if he can't make it to practice, he's not allowed to play in the game on Saturday. He's 9. The expectations are clear. You practice, and then you can play when the stakes are higher. No one ever asks for a recording. Yet, in my work, participants often miss sessions and then ask for a recording. It happened again this morning. Morning Theresa, I hope all is well. Sincere apologies, I will not be able to attend the session this morning. If there is a recording, then it would be great to have it so I can catch up. In our on demand culture, it seems that more and more people believe that simply watching the recording is enough. While their peers are stepping into vulnerability, and exploring and experimenting with the ideas within our chosen book, they can simply "call in" at a later date to "catch up." We don't get better watching a recording. We get better by practicing ourselves. And we practice so that we can "play" when the stakes are higher. 👉 What are you practicing right now?
